Okay here is a post from Walk4MeWednesdays that I think we should take a look at:

I am going to be BRUTALLY honest here.

I ‘ve been doing a lot of thinking lately about this economy, and how bad it is. I also know that most people do not realize the position they are currently in. Most of the ballroom community have never thought about their future before, (other than how to become legendary) and have no clue just how bad off they are. How many of you are currently employed, have health and life insurance, a retirement tool. I’ll be willing to bet that most of us wouldn’t know what a 401k was, much less having one. This is not to sound cruel, but I think it is time for some of the lazy people/ illegal activity/people who are un-educated and scared to get it together.

This is not the time to try to skate by until things get better. Things are a long way off from getting better.

Vito Milan went on Tom’s show this week (which I thought was very brave)to let you all know that crafting should probably be something you quit doing while you still can. And he gave the reasons why. I think it is time to put the craft down, and pick up a job application. This economy is so bad, that the feds are turning up the hunt for identity thieves. Catching you have become a priority.

Jobs are laying off hundreds of their employees, and it is becoming very hard for employers to hire new people. Although Barack has been elected, it is going to be years before we feel any relief from the last eight years of misappropriated policies. Thsese are scary times even for people who have things in place for their future. But I am afraid that the ball community is lost. They have no connection to the world outside of being gay, or the ball scene. They are not thinking about anything but getting high, walking balls, become ballroom phab, and having sex. The economy is just a word in the dictionary to most. Especially the younger kids. But a lot of the older ones are no better.

When are you guys going to wake up, and realize that when you need to fend for yourself because the govt. has cut off public funding, or because you need medical attention for whatever is ailing, or because you were kicked out of your apt that you share with three to four other house members or girlfriends, you are going to be in bad shape. Some of you will actually be forced to do things you thought you’d never do. Some of you might even become homeless, or worse. This is not a put down, but a dose of reality. Think Think think. FUTURE FUTER FUTURE.

Stop for a moment and really get into your life, and what you are making of it. If you cannot put at least three professional jobs on your resume and you are in your 30s, you really need to fix some things in a hurry.

If you are over 21, and have no high school diploma, have never worked an honest job in your life, stop hanging with whoever you are hanging with right now, because your life is headed for ruin. If you are with people who know you have nothing going for yourself other than a devestating spin dip, and duck walk, or a nice face, ass and dick and they don’t try to get you to do something positive and lucrative with your life, dump them now they are drift wood. People should hang with people who will motivate them instead of wasting your life year after year.
And for you guys who are being kept by a man or whoever, stop fooling yourself, because you are only good until the next babe who is 4 years younger than you comes along.

I rarely get on here giving a dose of hard core reality, but something compelled me to do it today. I don’t expect any comments or anything, which I know I’ll get my share of negative ones, I just hope at least one person reads this, and at least starts to think about their life.

If anyone wants or needs help, please send me a PM. I will be more than happy, and am more than able to assist you in finding work, or getting to a place where you have a start.

Be Blessed
